        CHEM 304: Physical Chemistry II

A study of the application of the principles of thermodynamics and statistical mechanics to chemical and biochemical systems.. Lecture only. Prerequisites: CHEM 101-102, MATH 247-248, PHYS 201-202. Strongly recommended: CHEM 201-202, CHEM 210.

        CHEM 305L: Physical Chemistry Lab

Designed to introduce a variety of apparatus, methods and techniques commonly employed in modern experimental physical chemistry and to help students develop the ability to appraise experimental data critically and treat errors in a systematic way. Lab only. Prerequisite: CHEM 303.

        PHYS 201: General Physics I

        PHYS 202: General Physics II

A two-semester calculus-based introduction to classical physics with emphasis on concepts and problem solving. Topics include mechanics, Newton’s laws, conservation laws, waves and oscillations, fluid mechanics, electricity and magnetism, circuits and optics. Integrated lecture and lab. Prerequisite for PHYS 201: MATH 247; recommended prerequisite for PHYS 202: MATH 248.

        PHYS 101: College Physics I

        PHYS 102: College Physics II

A two-semester algebra-based introduction to classical physics with emphasis on concepts and problem solving. Topics include mechanics, Newton’s laws, conservation laws, waves and oscillations, fluid mechanics, electricity and magnetism, circuits and optics. Integrated lecture and lab. Prerequisites or co requisite: college core math requirement (normally MATH 105).

       CHEM 333: Literature for Chemists

An introduction to the methods and practice of searching chemical literature including online computer searching. Lecture only. Prerequisites: CHEM 101-102
